Details about Jacob

Around day two Jacob started not breathing right. They took him to the NICU and hooked him up to some machines. Memories from Brendon came back and I bawled all day! My eyes were so swollen and puffy it took more than a day for them to go down. The pediatrician determined that the problem was not the lungs, but something higher. She called in an ENT doctor. Jacob had gunk from birth crusted over both sides of his nasal airway. The dr dug it out but now it’s a giant scab in his nose so it keeps blocking his airway. It’s not as bad as the first time because I’ve been able to keep one side open but we will have to make trips to North Platte to have the ENT look at him. As I’ve said before, “What would one of my pregnancies be without a little drama?”

Jacob

He's Here!!! Jacob Anthony Walker was born on 12-12-07 at 8:38am. We were finally able to come home yesterday. Jacob was kept in the hospital an extra day due to an obstruction in his nasal cavity. (Long story...) Anyway we will have to see the ENT specialist off and on until the scab in his nose doesn't block the nasal airway. He is a great baby and Koby and Brendon LOVE him!!!

Koby's Birthday Weekend

On Wednesday the 5th Brendon and I took birthday snacks to Koby's school. Koby's birthday was Saturday. We decided to go to North Platte Friday after school because of the weather. We didn't want to be stuck a couple hours away from the hospital if the baby decided to come. We stayed in a cabin at my aunt's place which was great. I had big plans for Saturday...going bowling, maybe swimming at the recreation center in NP. Well, Koby ended up not feeling well so we just hung around the cabin all day. That evening Koby was feeling better so we went to my aunt's house for supper and played with my cousin's kids. We came home Sunday morning. I told Tony that the weekend was probably the last time we would do anything like that as a family of four!!!

This Baby Wants Out!

We were back in the hospital Saturday night with more contractions. They got them to stop again, but if the contractions start up again it sounds like we might deliver the baby. I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get there. Please pray for wisdom for the drs and me, no incisional pain, healty baby & GOD'S WILL!!

THANKS TO ALL!! :):)

Baby Prayer Requests

Well, yesterday we were back in the hospital with contractions. The dr thought at one point we were going to deliver the baby, but they got the contractions to stop! Praise God!! Anyway, I got the muscle relaxer shot again and then we had to do two steroids shots to help get the baby's lungs ready just incase we do deliver a little early.

Prayer Requests:
Wisdom for me on decision making...whether/when to go or not etc

Wisdom for the Drs

No More Contractions

No tenderness by my incision

Healthy Baby

God's Will

Love,
Mary Jo

Baby Update

What would one of my pregnancies be without a little drama?? Well, yesterday we were supposed to go to my cousin's wedding in North Platte. In the morning when I was getting ready my lower back was starting to ache and I thoguth I could feel some tightening in my tummy so I called my doctor. Of course he had me go to the hospital in NP to see if I was having some premature labor. I was having a few contractions. They gave me muscle relaxer shots and got the contractions to stop. We spent the night in North Platte and came home this morning. I am just supposed to relax and take it easy. I have to go to the office some time this week. (This has nothing to do with my incision problem.) Soooo, we were told that I could have premature labor (yesterday) and then have nothing again until time to deliver the baby on our scheduled date. We would appreciate your prayers for no early contractions and a well developed, healthy baby!!!!

Love to All!!!

7 Months

Yesterday I had my 7 month check up. Everything is going great!!! The OB/GYN office I go to has four doctors that you have to rotate through. I have chosen the doctor I want to do the c-section, but I was concerned who would deliver the baby if I went before the scheduled date because I could get whoever was on call. I asked about that yesterday and the doctor told me if I really wanted him to deliver I could just request him when I called in and he would come. That made my day!!! I'm scheduled to have a c-section on December 18th! Can't wait!!!

First Day of Preschool

Today was Brendon and Lane's first day of Preschool together. When Brendon woke up this morning he ran down the hall waving his hands in the air saying "It's Preschool Day!!" They had a lot of fun! Anita had a meeting so I stayed at Preschool and watched Faith. She is so sweet!

Koby was so excited to mow the lawn by himself! He even had to call Grandma and tell her. Hopefully his excitement lasts another 15 years or so. :)

6 Months

Last week I went to my 6 month check up. Everything is going great! I will be scheduled for a c-section around the 18th of December. Where I went into labor before the boys' scheduled c-sections the drs. are thinking the chances are good that I go before the 18th. Time is going to fly!! Can't wait! Koby's b-day is the 8th so who knows we could have an awesome b-day/Christmas present.

OK....it didn't work

The Lake in Our Yard

We got over 3 inches of rain last night. Our yard has now become a lake. It's cold here and I'm having a hard time keeping Brendon out of the water. He decided he could drive his jeep and get close enough without getting wet.

The boys were up at 5:50 this morning because it was "School Day"! I think Brendon was just as excited as Koby for school to start.

5 Month Checkup

We got an ultrasound on the 9th. The baby was moving all over the place. It was neat to feel and see it at the same time. Right now it is breech, but that doesn't matter with me (c-sections) :) The boys are wanting a sister so Mommy isn't the only girl. I guess we'll see. The top ultrasound is the profile...baby looking at you and the bottom one is the baby's spine. (If you click on the picts you can see it better.)

Working Hard with Dad!

Tony has been priming the out-buildings. The boys LOVE painting with him!

The Loss of Our First Pets

Tony brought home two kitties from work a couple months ago. They were barely big enough to wean. We had to feed them every day and became pretty attached, especially Koby. The funny thing was the personalities of the kitty matched the boy. Koby's kitty was calm and Brendon's kitty was rambunctious. This morning Tony came back from work and said the kitties were in his pickup. Koby and I cried. (I didn't realize how much the boys look alike until I put the bottom two pictures on. I had to take a double look at Koby thinking it was Brendon! :) )

Our Fishing Time Together!

Brendon got a fishing pole from Grandma for his birthday. She felt bad for Koby since his birthday is in December so he got one too. :) We have a couple small ponds on the place where we live. Fun Family Time!

You Know You Are A Redneck When........

You mow the yard with a bar mower to save time! :)

Lost Teeth

On the 20th of June Koby lost one of his top teeth. You could see his new tooth coming in behind his front one. Well the new tooth kept pushing the front one straight out. It didn't seem like it was going to come out.

Yesterday I took him to the dentist to see if the tooth needed pulled. He ended up getting both front teeth pulled. While he was sitting in the dentist chair with a mouth full of gauze he mumbled something that I couldn't understand. The dentist looked at me and said, "He said, 'Now I will get money!'" Too funny. I was worried about him hurting and all he could think about was having TWO teeth to put under his pillow!

When we got home he had to show Daddy and call Grandma!
