Details about Jacob
Around day two Jacob started not breathing right. They took him to the NICU and hooked him up to some machines. Memories from Brendon came back and I bawled all day! My eyes were so swollen and puffy it took more than a day for them to go down. The pediatrician determined that the problem was not the lungs, but something higher. She called in an ENT doctor. Jacob had gunk from birth crusted over both sides of his nasal airway. The dr dug it out but now it’s a giant scab in his nose so it keeps blocking his airway. It’s not as bad as the first time because I’ve been able to keep one side open but we will have to make trips to North Platte to have the ENT look at him. As I’ve said before, “What would one of my pregnancies be without a little drama?”

Jacob
He's Here!!! Jacob Anthony Walker was born on 12-12-07 at 8:38am. We were finally able to come home yesterday. Jacob was kept in the hospital an extra day due to an obstruction in his nasal cavity. (Long story...) Anyway we will have to see the ENT specialist off and on until the scab in his nose doesn't block the nasal airway. He is a great baby and Koby and Brendon LOVE him!!!

Koby's Birthday Weekend
On Wednesday the 5th Brendon and I took birthday snacks to Koby's school. Koby's birthday was Saturday. We decided to go to North Platte Friday after school because of the weather. We didn't want to be stuck a couple hours away from the hospital if the baby decided to come. We stayed in a cabin at my aunt's place which was great. I had big plans for Saturday...going bowling, maybe swimming at the recreation center in NP. Well, Koby ended up not feeling well so we just hung around the cabin all day. That evening Koby was feeling better so we went to my aunt's house for supper and played with my cousin's kids. We came home Sunday morning. I told Tony that the weekend was probably the last time we would do anything like that as a family of four!!!
